<p style="text-align: justify;">Etter ønske fra Feltartilleriets skole- og øvingsavdeling (FASO) På Haslemoen, ble det anskaffet en ny type skiunderstell for Cessna O-1A.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Prøvene skulle utføres ved Luftforsvarets forsyningskommando på Kjeller, og Cessna CE-F ble derfor overført fra Værnes til Kjeller den 2. april 1965. Skiene var av typen Fly-Lite og ble utprøvd i perioden 9. til 24. april 1965.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dette var kombinerte ski og hjul, som ga meget gode resultater både på snø og permanente banedekker. Brukbarheten på ujevn og bløt bakke var imidlertid noe begrenset. Selv med disse begrensningene, anbefalte FASO anskaffelse av denne skitypen.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Utstyret besto av to hovedski av lettmetall med akslinger, og en haleski. Omkoplingen fra ski til hjul foregikk hydraulisk med en håndpumpe i kabinen. Haleskien ble montert fast På halehjulsgaffelen, og var styrbar sammen med halehjulet. Med skiene montert ble så vel hastighet som manøvrerbarhet en del redusert. Under provene På Kjeller tok flyet av på 150 m i åtte til ti cm bløt nysnø. Prøver utfort i 950 m høyde i 30 til 35 cm dyp gammel snø, ga en avgangs strekning på 220 m. Etter hvert ble det anskaffet ski for montering på samtlige Cessna O-1A.</p>
